British-Hong Kong DJ/producer Olivia Dawn has been shaking up the industry with her unique talent at the age of 25. She is notorious for delivering incredible electric violin improvisations and powerful, husky vocals over her DJ and live electronic sets. Olivia has written, recorded and produced original music for major artists from both the pop and underground realm, while her own sound is a distinctive combination of uplifting melodies, cinematic arrangements and deep, minimal drops. Her signature mixing style fuses the sound of melodic techno with the driving rhythm of deep progressive house and minimal groovy basslines from funky house. She is also a part of progressive tech house/techno duo Until Dawn which made its debut at Tomorrowland 2017 and Cafe D’Anvers in Antwerp. Recently, Olivia has headlined at the Grand Opening night of Cafe Del Mar in Phuket as well as Escape Bangkok, W Bangkok and W Bali where she was the closing act after Aeroplane.
Olivia began playing piano and violin at the age of 5 and started songwriting in high school. A Juilliard bachelor and Berklee double-master graduate in classical violin, contemporary performance and music technology respectively, she has lived away from home since 14 in NYC and Valencia, Spain. During her time at Berklee's Valencia Campus, she accidentally discovered a way to merge her rigorous technical training with her love for writing, production and DJing in a way that allowed her to take a performance far beyond any normal DJ set. With tasteful track selection, flawless mixing and spectacular showmanship, she has been the supporting act for DJs such as Yokoo, Rampue, Jeremy Olander, Agents of Time, Aeroplane and Dave Seaman, as well as international superstars Jonas Blue, Rain and Bebe Rexha. Olivia has collaborated with major brands including Daybreaker, Nike, Alexander McQueen, W, Armani, Swire, Max Mara, Porsche, Tudor, Shanghai Tang and was featured at a Virgin Australia event by Sir Richard Branson.
Olivia’s mastery of musical styles ranges from classical and jazz to world and cinematic. Highly demanded for her versatility on violin and voice, She has recorded vocals for French producer TIME (supported by Solomun) and strings for Mako, Eagles & Butterflies, Tobias Enhus, Yarub Smarait, Casey Driessen, Nacho Marco, Zebbler Encanti Experience, Lost Tapes and Latin Grammy award-winning producer Javier Limón. An avid Ableton user, Olivia processes her own recordings and produces original tracks in her small home studio. She is currently working on her debut EP “Lions”. She will also record an EP with TIME following their successful release of "BIRD" (supported by Bob Sinclar) in South America through Kitsune Records. She has previously written and produced original music for popstars Julio Rizzi (Spain), Elva Hsiao (Taiwan) and AGA (HK) through Peermusic Spain and Universal HK.
Passionate in the studio and no stranger to the spotlight, Olivia commands the stage with charm. Aside from performing and recording and producing, she actively gives performances and lectures at Berklee College of Music and serves as a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum in promoting eco-sustainability around the world. Recently she hosted a bilingual live webcast following the International Music Competition Harbin on behalf of Medici TV, the largest classical music channel in the world. With a powerful, infectious energy, Olivia takes audiences on an exhilarating journey. Currently a Nike ambassador, she plays on an NS Design electric violin, generously sponsored by Tom Lee Hong Kong.
